History
  • His name comes from his previous owner, Akita Sanesue(秋田 実季, 1576 – January 11, 1660). Akita Sanesue served under Toyotomi Hideyoshi
  • His blade length is roughly 25.5cm, and is very thin for its length.
  • It is also an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
  • As it was owned privately for a long time, its name is not on any lists of famous swords in Edo records. Details about its other previous owners are unknown.
