In a certain era, located at a certain site, exists a village shrouded in thick mist. That location becomes a place where the Touken Danshi can test their abilities.
Event Period: 29 September 2015 (Tues) 19:00 until 6 October 2015 (Tues) 14:00 Japan Standard Time.

How to Play[]
- Every time you go into an event map, you consume a one-way pass. You are given three, which naturally replenish twice a day at 5:00 and 17:00 JST (GMT+9). You can replenish all three for 100 koban once you run out. However, you can only restore these passes 10 times (maximum 1000 koban spent) per day. When choosing to go on a sortie, a pop-up warning message will appear asking you to confirm that you will be using a pass. Once you have used up all 3, another pop-up will alert you to say that you do not have passes left to proceed. To spend 100 koban and restore all 3 passes, click the gold button beside the pass count.
- There are 4 maps in the event. Like in regular worlds, new maps are unlocked when a player clears its preceding map.
- Reaching a node triggers a card draw. You will be given a randomly-selected Hanafuda style card (see images below), and you will proceed along the map depending on the effects of the drawn card. Appearance rates of each card increase as you go along the maps.
- You will encounter enemy teams consisting of only one sword type (e.g. 6 Tantous, 6 Uchigatanas) when you draw an enemy card. Enemies are grouped by 5 sword types: Tantou, Uchigatana, Tachi, Yari, and Naginata. Your drawn enemy card will indicate which type of sword you will be going against. The difficulty of these enemies will depend on the map level.
- If you are unfortunate enough to draw a type of enemy card a second time, you will confront an enemy of extraordinary difficulty, indicated by the enemy card doing a spinning animation. Beware, these enemies can defeat even an all level-99 team! When all your swords are defeated, you will be automatically sent back to the citadel, and the sortie will be recorded in your player log as a loss/failed match. According to the staff, player records will be reset after the event ends.
- Event rewards are claimed when a player reaches a bead number milestone (see detailed table below). Beads acquired during a sortie are accounted for when a player chooses to return to citadel. However, failed sorties and force-exiting the game will result in no beads earned.
- If your troops/swords have fled from battle either by drawing the Dokuya or Bomb card, they will be intact and will be waiting for you in the citadel upon your return. This event is similar to the PvP mode, so there is no danger of losing swords or troops when playing a sortie.
Notes[]
- Upon returning to the citadel, health and troops lost during the sortie will be restored.
- Fatigue accumulates as normal.
- Swords will not break even if you advance to the next battle on heavy damage.
- Swords that have been pushed back will not participate in the next battle.
- After battling enemies in the village (event map), even if victorious, swords cannot be acquired.
- Missions can be completed with sorties to the village.
- In the village, Omamori and Omamori Kyoku will not activate and will not be consumed.
- If you disconnected in the middle of a sortie, used one-way passes will not be returned. In addition, the sortie will be counted as a failure, and beads gathered during the sortie will be lost.
- There is no level limit to gain experience.
- Kebiishi will not appear.
- Clearing a map more than once gives players the same number of beads as in the first clear (10 for map 1, 20 for map 2, 140 for map 3, 300 for map 4), in addition to the beads acquired through card draws.
- Bead count is accessed by clicking the red button beside the event banner, which will also lead you to the list of bead milestones and their corresponding rewards.
Type of Cards[]
Beads[]
You will earn the number of beads indicated on the card. Green earns you 1 bead, blue earns you 5 beads, and red earns you 10 beads.

Konnosuke:
This is the uncharted area shrouded in mist, the [Village of Challenges]. Befitting of its name, this place tests the abilities of the disciplined Touken Danshi. Even if the Touken Danshi get injured to the point that they are heavily damaged, after the battle is over, they will return to their previous state albeit they will still be fatigued. Because this place is safe to be used as training place, please use this location to drill their power to your heart’s content!
Furthermore, this is only a rehearsal practice for the real thing. So use this chance to play and get used to the system! In this place, according to the design on the card that you draw for each node, various effects will occur. If you draw a trap card, it can disable your Touken Danshi or troops from the battle, or else makes you lose the beads you have gathered. If you draw enemy card, you’ll get a confrontation with enemies. Furthermore, if you draw the same enemy type for the second time, the enemy you face will be extraordinarily strong.
Should your group leader get incapacitated and the group must retreat from the battlefield, you will lose all the beads you have collected. Thus, if you think it’s getting dangerous, please return to the citadel at once. The type and amount of the cards you have drawn are displayed on the top right. Please decide whether your troop should advance or return to the citadel based on the number and type of cards remaining.
In accordance to the number of beads you bring back to the citadel, you will receive various rewards. Do your best!

Difficulty: Hard[]
Konnosuke:
In this [Difficulty: Hard] map, the key is not to force yourself to advance until boss node and return in the middle of the map. That’s especially true since drawing the 2nd card of the same enemy type will pit you against dangerously strong enemies. Do not push yourself too hard in order to defeat enemy and just return if you feel in danger. Maybe that’s the shortcut to get heaps of beads!?

Difficulty: Expert[]
Konnosuke:
Since this [Difficulty: Expert] map boasts more enemy appearances than previous maps, traversing it until the end might prove to be difficult. In the middle of your journey, if you have collected plenty of beads, I advise you not to force yourself and return to the citadel!
